ok lets go with prince.
this guy knows the deal.
ok hes a little weird and weird sells.
he hangs out with hot 1/2 naked chic's
taller than he is. knows how to right a song
that everybody knows the words to, even if they dont like it.
he has pretty killer tone coming out of that guitar of his.
he bought an abandon building in detroit and converted it to
his home and studio. he even has a mini grocery store in the basement
complete with cash registers and mini shopping carts.

or we can go full out with the closet door wide open and
confess that duranduran was the best dang top 40's band to
probably hit the planet. chcics are still packing the areana's to see
these guys.
another 80s metal fan.

Not bad, not bad... Never liked Prince, still don't. Well, ok his Little Red Corvette song is cool.

I will admit to liking Duran Duran myself.

he had some pretty cool licks.
his darling nikki song was crazy cool.
todays radio stations wouldnt dare play that song.

rod stewert (sp) always had cool guitar players.
he wrote some good songs.
a g.friend back in the very early 90's made me go to a concert here in atlanta
of his. man i was one of few guys. the ladies were has hot as you could imagine. lol they everywhere. mens bathroom was packed with chics.
his band was amazing. they really had theirselves together.
the sound was as perfect as you could want. everybody was crisp and very clear. several from his 30 plus band did solos. the musicianship
was tops.

from the 80's my fav was and still is cinderella.
they are a "good times band" toms blues solos
were always crazy. you didnt soon forget them.
he didnt play like that on albums though. i never
understood why. he should have because he would have
at least reached ritchie sambora type fame.
another 80s metal fan.

Yeah I liked Cindrella. Rod? Hmm.. He had a few songs that were cool, but never really a fan of his.

My 80's favs were in no particular order

Van Halen
Rush
AC/DC
Dokken / Lynch Mob
Def Leppard
RATT
Tesla
Poison

I'm sure I'm missing a few of my faves, but those come to mind.

Right before I came back from my college Freshman year's Christmas break, my dad calls and says 'Hey, I got a few tickets for Prince', I talked to your sister, step brother and cousin who want to go, how about you?'. He knew I was 'too metal'. Still, I said I'd go. It was Christmas eve 1983.

Otherwise known as the first date of the Purple Rain tour (note: I'm originally from Minneapolis). Sheila E. warmed up...Well, to be honest she steamed up...yowza!

I wasn't much of a fan of Prince until that night. I have never in my life seen a band cook it up like that. It was a red hot smokin' show.

Before the show was kinda wild too. He had guys walking around with big gift boxes that would be given to random women. They were fur coats. Quite a night.

My dad had serious connections to just about everything. I'd call and he could make about anything that needed tickets happen. In this case, it fell in to my lap.

I guess times are tight these days. I remember Prince recently giving his symbol shaped guitar to some TMZ guy after a concert, but then a roadie went and got it back. :D

I've never seen Prince live, and never had much of a warm spot for him, but I have seen some stuff on the tube. He is an intense performer and artist. And I actually do like a couple of his songs.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

I'm secure enough in my rockerness to admit this, though a bit embarrasing. :p

Lady Gaga. Poker face

I just really enjoy the rhythm of that song

En Vogue - Free Your Mind

Sooooo rocks! Vocal are completely kickin'.

Great example of using a heavy groove and riff to really kick it out. I remember hearing this originally and thinking sooo many hard rock band could have learned from this tune.

Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart". This is probably because it played a lot while I was roller skating and learning how to chase (and sometimes catch) girls.

Linda Rondstadt "Blue Bayou"

Hayseed Dixe. Not everything they do but I like a lot of it.

I'm snickering, only because I can relate. Oh the good old days.
