I just recently started subscribing to guitartricks and have already learned a lot in terms of developing my skills. I am pretty literate in reading sheet music but I'm really struggling in combining my sight-reading skills with the guitar. Normally on a piano you can see a middle C and know exactly which key to press but on a guitar, that key could be a number of places! which is the best approach to reading music and playing and where can I go to further hone my skills?
Secondly, I'm really struggling to understand chord position. I know the basic major and minor finger positions that are normally played on the first 5 intervals of the guitar neck, but fail to understand chord placement beyond the basics.
All in all I am currently just practicing in replicating the playing techniques that i've been learning through this site and it's these two obstacles I am trying to over come to become a better musician and guitar player. Any feedback is appreciated!
