I am new here and saw the songs, and I was looking for the band, Slipknot. They are a relatively new (3 or 4 years old) band that I have really been looking forward to play. Like Jazzfan said about The Kinks, Slipknot has been overly looked over and discriminated. They wear some very scary and to some, disturbing, masks, but don't let this distract you from the music. They are amazing with tricky rhythms. I would love it if GT put Sulfur or, better yet, Snuff. These are my 2 favorite songs by them. Sulfur would probably be a 3 star, and Snuff, not sure. Sulfur would definitely be Metal, but Snuff, again, not too sure.
Another band that I would like for GT to consider is The John Butler Trio. John Butler is one of the most amazing guitarists I have seen. Possibly greater than the legend, Jimmy Page. John's music consists of rhythms that seem like intricate solos and the solos are like a creation of god. He fingerpicks on his 12 string acoustic to get these results, and he sure does, in my opinion.
A 3rd, and utterly great band is Bullet for my Valentine. They are another new Metal band that not everyone may like, but I sure as hell do. Their album, Scream Aim Fire, is full of hard hitting but speedy guitar licks and is a great success. Personally, my favorite song on that album is Waking the Demon. Their song Hit the Floor from the album "The Poison" is another great favorite. It has a hard hitting and heavy rhythm and pulls out with great riffs and licks.
Please consider these bands, as they will surely blow many away. :D
