I'm just getting the whole mixing part. I find it really hard.
try Sound Forge 5. it's really the best one, and you have all those effects at one place (compression, reverb, distorsions, noise gate...) , and it's really easy to use

I use cool edit too, and even though everyone around me uses sound forge, I still resist (don't know why though)

hey Hootayah, I just heard some of your stuff and its by far the best I heard here, really cool song with a very good solo. What did you use for drums, bass and effects?

no wait, it's Schmange playing that, I made a mistake... anyway, my vote also goes for him

Um, I have some questions. First off, I have a ZOOM 505 Effects Pedal. I don't know if that's what Benoit was talking about or if he actually has a GUITAR branded ZOOM 505. Just wanted to know if that's what you mentioned. Second, I would like to know how you record onto your computers. I have a pretty good idea that(besides the software, which I can get) I need some sort of jack or port to hook up to the computer. Any ideas what exactly I should buy? Please. I would like to put myself up for you to choose whether I should be voted or not. I suck...but I want YOU all to decide that. I KNOW I suck...you guys don't. So far, the only person I've heard is Lalimacefolle and I would like to vote him. I dunno. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THE RECORDING EQUIPMENT. Thanks,

You need to hook your zoom 505 to your sound card. You need to see what's your 'out' in the zoom and what you soundcard's 'in' looks like. Then buy a cable who can hook to both of them. It should be a normal Jack on one side and a stereo mini jack on the other end. Ask your local store to get what you need.
Now vote for me....;)

Come one Lalimace! Stop posting good solos you're making mine fade away ;)
Jokes aside really good solo, love it. Keep them coming!
As for my zoom pedal, I don't connect directly from it but if you do, make sure to take the volume of your pedal down a lot. You don't need a loud sound to record. In fact, it will sound real bad if your too loud. So turn the volume down.

lalimace, you play great but shredding sucks and that techno thing too, don't you have any bluesy rock stuff? If you do post the best thing you got!
Branislav I liked one of the songs hootayah posted. I think it's the first link. It may not be extremly difficult but its the style of music and the style of guitar playing I like.

future shop has some excellent "ports/sound card input devices", excuse me I don't know the lingo, however there is an interesting attatchment that enables one to input just about anything ei. rca, video, 9-pin, 24-pin, 1/8 jack,1/4 jack, high/low impediance microphones, and control input levels as well; if I recall it isn't too expensive. I'm planning to attatch it to my computer and use software such as pro lab, wave guitar, or cubase. Initially I use a four track then download it to the computer; you can even use easy cd creator for this, touch up the sound and go straight to burning cds cheap, cheap.

I know, that's why I try to imitate it... By the way, in my techno stuff, no synths were used...
Here's some blues rock:

Samuri warriors never hate their apponent, they respect them uttmost wether they win or lose. My style is wue chi yebula samuri guitar, although I may suck at hand to hand combat I am able to blow my apponnents eardrums with rancid disonant feedback.
