I'm familiar with the Wechter Scheerhorn resos ("Dobros"), and boy, do they ever sound great! I expect this guitar, coming from that same heritage, sounds equally as well live. They really do have a 'woody soul' inside them!

Neal thanks for the review. This sounds like an awesome acoustic.

Owning an acoustic guitar such as this Wechter would be something that actually makes you want to play better and learn more.

Looking forward to it.

That's a pretty nice sounding (and looking) guitar for the price, but free would be even better - so please enter me in the drawing!

My Name is Brian and I am a Northern California Singer / Songwriter with a unique campaign to answer to the call that President Obama put out calling for more volunteerism. I started this campaign to celebrate my 40th year as a performer as well. I have attached the press release and...I WOULD LOVE TO WIN THAT GUITAR!

SINGER/SONGWRITER STARTS UNIQUE CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERISM

Rohnert Park, CA ā€“ When Brian Gardner heard President Obama calling for more citizens to get involved in community work and volunteerism, Brian, a performer in the Bay Area for 40 years, decided to start a campaign to answer the call by the President and to celebrate his 40 years in the performing arts. Gardner currently showcases his songwriting as a singer, guitarist and percussionist and has been an out-spoken anti-drug advocate since 1979. His campaign is a unique way of encouraging citizens of all ages to get involved in their communities.

ā€œIā€™ve started this grass roots movement to encourage people to invest in their communities by devoting at least 1-hour of their personal time to some type of volunteer activity. The campaign is called: The 1- Hour - A - Week ā€“ Campaign for Community Betterment. Everyone can devote at least 1 hour a week towards the variety of actions that come under the heading of volunteerism. One can read to a child, visit a retirement home or just be a friendly companion to a senior citizen. When one takes a walk, one can bring a bag along and pick up trash along the path. People are always needed to do a variety of tasks for community service organizations. Pick the one you would like to support, give them a call and I guarantee they will gladly take your 1 hour a week of donated time! The ā€œlistā€ of things that people can do is virtually endless.ā€ said Gardner.

ā€œThe population for the greater Bay Area is about 7.1 million. What gets me excited is that if only 1 percent of Bay Area residents start doing their 1- hour a week, that would add up to 70 thousand hours of volunteerism that were done this week that were not done last week. If that were the case, our communities would be a totally different place to live in, to work in and to raise a family in! Just imagine the changes and the bettered living environment our communities would become if such a movement catches on. I am aware that many people are already doing much more than 1 hour a week. The people I am trying to reach with this campaign are those that arenā€™t doing any. I firmly believe that everyone can donate 1 hour a week to such activities ā€“ no matter how old they are, no matter what religion, race or creed they follow. This is a campaign that everyone can be a part of!ā€ said Gardner. Gardner performs at retirement homes, does radio shows on community topics, performs volunteer work and is now involved with getting the message out about his 1 - Hour - A - Week Campaign for Community Betterment.

ā€œIf only a small percentage of those that hear about my campaign start to do their 1 hour a week ā€“ it will mean that as an individual, as an performer, I was able to make a positive difference in the world! I believe that everyone can do the same thing. And it starts with doing justā€¦1 hour a week.ā€ Gardner said.

This is a lot of guitar for the money. If I won this, I know a very deserving young lady that will be getting it as a gift.

Great looking and great sound! I'd love to have this one. I've long wanted to add an acoustic electric to my guitar collection (1 at present--small collection). I think this would be a good one to add.

Count me in for the giveaway!
