Since your learning Blues, you will really need to focus on the techniques, like bends, hammerons and pulloffs, slides and all that other good stuff. Phasing is very important, not just playing the notes, but getting the notes to do what you want them to do.
The best advice is as simple as this, practice, practice, practice. It can't be said enough. I live by a simple rule, there is no such thing as taking a day off from guitar, and I have found it serves me pretty well.
As far as a music room goes, hummmmm, maybe put up some charts, one of your chords, and one of your fretboard with all the notes listed, I would think that would be a good start.
