Go ahead and put a bit of glue on it. I doubt you will find any need to replace the nut; putting a floyd rose style locking nut on a squier probably isn't worth the price, and there are few other reasons to replace it. However, if you do want to replace it, a little bit of glue won't stand up against some heavy duty pliers! Seeing as you're replacing it, it's not as if oyu need to keep the nut intact or anything. The moving nut will affect your intonation though, and I advise that you fix it.
