hand Van halen a banjo, and he'll sound like himself playing a banjo... I think we understand your point, but gear, at that level, has a lot to do in one's sound. Buy flat wound strings, or thin ones, or huge ones, and the licks you'll play will be different. It will still be you playing, but differently.
