Neal. I am a new guitar player and i am wondering. Is it an amp and effects or just effects. could i plug my guitar into it and replace this for an amp?

It's an amp and effects but there's no speaker like your standard amp would have so you can run it into an amp, P.A. system or even your home stereo (at low volume), or you can use headphones.
