Have been researching it a bit, and seems that there are a few theories on why it was axed (pardon the pun) Best I can tell is that it really didn't sell as well as expected and it didn't make sense dollar wise for Roland and Fender to continue on with the liscensing stuff. That and the price was a bit up there for the market.

However, reading some of the conspiracy theories on it was entertaining :)
