Hey Ironeagle76,
Some people have larger fingers than others, I know a few players that make an A chord that way. A picking buddy of mine named Redd, has huge fingers. He is a great player, but he doesn't make chords the same way I do. there are several chords he had to restructure because of the size of his fingers. I don't really think it will hurt you in the long run, it didn't slow him down any, and he's one of the best lead players I know. He says it makes it easier for him to block strings, when he's playing a solo. You asked a good question, and one important thing to remember is, if you think you have something that might work against you, figure out a way to make it work for you. It seems like you've done that, so keep on picking.

Let us know if we can do anything else for you, and have a great Memorial Day weekend.
