I purchased myself a new hotrod deluxe from musicians friend and it will be here in a couple days. I was told I could get my country twang with it and it would be a much lighter amp for me. I wanted a new one of these because I did not want one that had been re-soldered, re-wired, re-tubed and re everything else by some crazed solder gun slinger.
Perhaps I should have read up on this amp before I bought it? I just don't understand this....I have never owned a tube amp and I was very excited about it. Now, I just don't know. I read these things that need done to this amp right out of the box. The amp needs biased? and all this other happy horse crap? How I need some volume controller so I can play the thing in my house without blowing the windows out? What the hell is this goofy crappage!
Just very courious as to why fender turns out this amplifier that needs all this work before it can be a good amp. Is not this amp fit to use out of the box? Or do I have to send it off to some solder sniffing shop junkie to correct things that fender can't get right?
Anyone own this amp? Anyone have anything to say good/bad about this amp that they would care to share with me? Thanks
