One good thing about solid state (imo) is that extended warranties are not such a consideration. With SS, after you buy it, leave it plugged in and turned [u]on[/u] for about a week (this goes for computers, pedals or anything). If parts are faulty and going to burn out, it's going to happen in the first few days. After that, you are probably ok until long after any warranty would expire.
