I have the Fender DeVille and would like to get the footswitch. I heard that its made of plastic and breaks easily. Is this true? If so, are there any alternatives?

I have tried other footswitches and for some reason they don't work correctly. They go straight to boost and totally skip gain- regardless of whether they have two buttons on them.

I would like to get a footswitch and stay away from getting another pedal because I love the sound that comes out of it now.
