I don't really know of any personal stories to share, but the thread brought to mind that character in the movie School of Rock who replaced Jack Black's character in his band. He wore a chestless leather "shirt" and did that gyroscopic hip swivel move meant to swoon the ladies. Sarcastically cheesy sure, but a kernel of truth there, which is what makes it funny.
