I hate to sound mainstream, but I would say, Wes Borland formerly of Limp Bizkit, has a very unique tone, and style. The way he mixes delay, and how he uses pulloff's and hammer-on's, almost as a sixth sense. He's not the best guitarist in the world, but I can tell when he's come up with a song. The first time i listened to Duke Lion, by his side band, Big Dumb Face, I knew it was him, even before i knew it was his side band. That's the only guitarist I can think of from my generation of music, that I can pick out, having that all nu-metal bands that come out now, all sound the same. =( o well.
