I am looking for a new amp. I found a few with sounds that I liked. One of them is the Mesa Boogie Express (the 5.25 model was what I played). When I asked about the price I was told $149.99 That seems a bit pricey to me.

I'm not committed or obligated to a specific sound right now- in fact that is part of the reason I am looking for a new amp- for a sound that I like. I liked how this one has a nice range of sounds and a good crunch to it.

When I asked someone at another store about the Mesa he told me that they didn't even carry it because it was so overpriced.

So my question is: Is this amp really overpriced to the point where I should dismiss it entirely and look for something new? Or would it be worth the money I put into it?
