Lots of chorus, delay and reverb. Digital effects rather than Analog, at least when I listen to it. You can get these effects for a relatively low cost. Danelectro produces realtively inexpensive effects-including the new Cool Cats which are metal with true bypass. The chorus and vibe are really good..both of these are living on my pedal board right now. You can always fool around with a FAB chorus and Fab echo..both around $12-18 each.

A compressor is very import, as mentioned in an earlier post. Personally I like some of the boutique compressors out there. Some good production numbers include the Boss CS-3, Visual Sound Comp 66 (or Route 66 OD and Comp) and the Marshall Edward the Compressor.
