Hey, I had the same guitar. I turned the "tone" down to "0" on the amp turned the mid way down the bass to medium-medium high and the treble to medium. Gain way up, guitar volume way up and amp volume down. I could get some real dark sounds out of it that way, I also used the bridge/middle pick-ups.

Results will vary, just play around with it. At those settings you can forget about playing more than two strings at a time, it's very distorted and muddy.
