I get some airplay, and it is cool to hear your music on the radio, even if someone else is doing it. And it's cool when you are playing at a gig you've done before, and someone requests one of your songs. And it's real nice when you get your BMI check and publisher's checks about 4 times a year. I don't make enough on royalties to live on exclusively , though, so I still have to do the road thing most of the time, usually out west in casino's. I am making inroads into the internet radio stations and music services. It seems to be more fair as far as compensation is concerned, and I am getting a lot more airplay, and even getting to do my songs myself, for a change.
