Once you've broken up the solo in smaller peices, work on one at a time starting very slowly and speeding it up. When you can play some of the parts up to speed work putting the solo back together.
breaking up a solo and working on a specific part at a time will help you a lot as you won't have to learn the whole solo in one shot. You will also remember it a lot more since you'll have practiced each part till it's perfect.
