K instead of joining one side of the argument or another I am just going to say that NO MUSIC SUCKS!!!! Music is a subjective experience and to each ear sounds different and is likes for different reasons. I believe that a term such as ethnocentrism is the closest thing to describing what is going on. One person beleive that there culture (in this case, prefferred form of music) is the best. Well ask a Swahili what he/she thinks is the best band in the world. He/She will tell you the guy in that other village is the best, and he/she will argue till he/she is blue in the face that he is the best thing in the world. In order to have a generalized and less ignorant message such as one thing sucks and the other is the greatest, try to listen to things that you absolutly can't stand. You may see merit in what the artist is trying to express. I think that there is a song by a composer where thre is something like 2:33 seconds of silence. That is the song. And alot of people like that???

Moreover, if you are trying to play effective guitar then you might find some other influences in what you detest? This will make you a better guitarist as a whole. So everybody stop arguing over this and stop putting your ideas on a pedestal!!
