Alright, I used to guitar it up back in the day. I knew multiple scales/modes all over the fretboard and I knew abunch of chords. This hippie kid taught me everything and I was in love.

I stopped playing for about 1 year and now I want to get back into it.

I only know the basic blues scale, and about 5 chords.

I'm wondering if I should repeat that process, just learn the scales over the whole fretboard and chords. Is this basically what you need to "appear good" at guitar?
