I think that DF really can hit the notes, it just seems like they're always drunk or running around on stage. Basically their trying too hard to give you a show, but really they just ruin their performance. When they're sitting down in a studio they play amazingly.

All of their songs pretty much sound the same. The guitar is edited after they record it and it sounds so computerized. You don't beleive me...go listen to a recorded version of a song of theirs and then listen to the live version. You can tell they edited the guitar a **** load to cover the messups. I can't stand them.

The band has frequently referred to their style not just as power metal, but extreme power metal. Despite this, their style differs from extreme power metal in that it doesn't use the death growl, except for in backing vocals such as in the song :Operation Ground and Pound". nor the aggressive feel that is portrayed by other extreme power metal bands such as Children of Bodom.I like guitar.

This is funny. LOL. OK, onto my story as to why Dragonforce hold a special place in heart.

I first heard of this band in 2006 or something. Their CD "Inhuman Rampage" had just come out. I was at a friends house on a break from school and I mentioned the band to some of my more metal loving friends. So, we pulled up myspace and listened to one song all the way through, then another, than another, than another, than another. We simply could not get enough of it. Was it a bit overly zealous? OF COURSE. Was it a bit tech-tastic? INDEED IT WAS. But, we saw the merit in it. The next day I got "Inhuman Rampage" and listened to it over and over and over. For some reason, in that moment; I needed that level of ridiculousness in my ear drums. The lyrics are awful, the songs are cheesy; but the guitar work (on recording, as I have yet to see them live) I thought to be fantastic. I am quite over it now, but none the less at the time they had a special place in my heart.

I have not heard their new album, but I cannot imagine it sounding any different from all their other records. That is my two-cents.
