I've just completed the first mix of my latest track 'Hellucination'. To date, this is the most difficult and challenging piece I've ever played and I'm pretty excited by the end result :)
The whole track is just under 3 minutes long, which is pretty quick but a hell of a lot happens. I used every technique I could imagine and drew on a few influences along with my own style such as Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen and Marty Friedman. There's also a deliberate nod to Mozart at 1.46 if you can notice it.
Normally I only spend about 2 or 3 hours recording and writing solos for a track but I have to admit this one took a bit of practice - about 3 hours per night for 5 nights to be able to get what was in my head out onto the fretboard.
