I bought my 7 string shecter in an impulse... I love the guitar, it's a bit heavy (cause is an older model, new models are not that heavy and the headstock is killer), but the have a great value for the money.

For metal is a great guitar, as others said... yep not the best pickups but that you can fix later to start they are OK, you should check them out give then a try and decide for yourself.

Bottom line good guitars on a budget and you can customize it when you get some more cash.

In my opinion go get one.
