I'd spend a grand on an amp and get a crap guitar... :rolleyes: But seriously... your setup will be as good as its weakest link really. So like fret spider said, don't blow it all on the guitar. If you think you will keep playing for another 5 years solid at least, and are fine with spending a grand, then get a nice amp for 3-4 hundred bucks and then get a guitar with whats left. Just my 2 cents.
