I've been reading up on effects lately and I realised suddenly that I haven't been using delay effects for my distortion. I used to only think of delay effects for the layering of notes and playing a counterpoint melody at the same time as your main melody... I always thought that the reverb, EQ and compressors took care of all the sustain and distortion handling.. now that I have added a subtle delay effect to my distortion sound even the reverb sounds better.
