My advice would be to follow your heart. If you have your heart set on a gibbo SG, save for it... you'll only regret going for the faded if you're only considering it because it's cheaper.

If you like the faded one, go for that. Me? I've got an SG standard, but find them a little neck-heavy if played standing up, and a bit tricky sat down because of the shape.

As long as you play a few before you settle, it'll be sweet. I bought a US tele a while back, and played every single one in the store before I chose one. It is worth it..... really...
