Just depends on what kind of style you like... You can set a strat up to be a floating trem but you lose tuning stability with the functionality of the trem... If you crank it down flush to the body like I do... you get a more consistant tone and the strings tend to last a tad longer. I never use the trem except to bury the tones.... so it works for me.

I use 5 springs too... by the way.
