i face the same problem all the time...the way i rectify it is to use the (<->) cursor at the top left corner of the pane...that cursor will enable you to drag the track sideways in any direction to suit the tempo you want...still ud have to listen closely and make minor adjustments to fit two tracks together so they sync..it is quite a pain when recording over a few tracks but thats how i do it..
