Yo Nox, first of all welcome aboard bro, great site to be in, and if you are a CGI animator... you must have a computer... no worry, we play guitar but in the end, we are geeks too.

So you can plug into your PC or Mac (better a Mac but... that will start a battle in here)... and rock on, there's a lot of software around that comes handy... but... You do have to get a big baddas amp.

Welcome again.

That's a hard question bro... If i recall well, in he gear section there's a PDF of how to choose the right amp for you... it really depends on your budget and the style and kind of tone you want.

Personally, I have a POD XT live (runs sweet on my Mac by the way) and like it very much so I'm thinking in getting a Crate powerblock and a custom cabinet, just power to amplify my proceced sound, but if you are into the tone of the amp itself... well, that's like seeking for the holy grail...

My suggestion would be to get info and get down to your local guitar shop and test drive a couple on your budget, and pick the one that suit you, cause bottom line, the only person who can tell you wich amp is right for you... it's you.

Rock on bro.

well sorry for the noob question, but why would i want to buy a PODXT live before buying an amp? i mean i went to see what it is and it sure does sound sweet but why would i want it before an amp?

No bro... I was just using it as an example of my rig situation, you actually don't need one before and amp, it was just an example, playing directly trhu an amp most of the time gives you the best result, but if you like to tweak sound, it's a very useful tool (not all think this, some players hate the XT sound, but as I said earlier... you should determine that department).

Really... check some models at the store, use them, tweak em up a bit, and you will find something you like within your budget... we all want big bad amps or custome ones or whatever... get you own ride and find what you need. By the way... what's you style?... that kind of determine the brand and type of it...

well from what i read in that pdf ill need a solid state amp since i only need one for practicing at home for now, how much would be the price range for one of those? and before going to the store and try it ill practice on my mac that way i can at least play something to try the amps :P

Good you read that man... there are a lot of brads that make solid state, price range depends on the size (power) of the amp and brand, you can get some pretty nice stuff over crate amps, maybe Line 6 stuff you might dig, Peavey has some good amps too, personally I own a Laney HardcoreMax amp, small 30 w, but has integrated reverb, so to start is ok, there are some Marshall combos you might wanna try but I can't give advice on those cause my experience with Marshall combos is not good, but some players swear over their Marshalls.

Sometimes you can get some pretty cool stuf on eBay if you ahve good experience with them, me... It';s hard cause Mexico postal service sucks so I don't give them a chance to handle that part.

Buddy...my friend had a beer the other day called 'la fin du monde' the other day. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
