Im assuming your talking about what you do on a BASS guitar right? I would imagine you could do it the same way on guitar. Most people do it on an acoustic guitar though. They even go as far as to try to mix guitar and percusion at the same time by "slapping" the guitar strings or hitting the body to produce the hollow sound.

Number 6 is titled "guitar slap and pop" i think. Did you do any research at all, or did you just post here for a quick answer? I didn't know anything about this when you posted, but it took me 20 seconds to type it into google/youtube and get a lot of info.
