Unless I am actually writing a track I don't practice at all, I didn't play for 6 weeks recently then sat down and came up with my latest and greatest. If I play too much I end up in a rut playing runs and exercises over and over - time off breeds creativity. Playing guitar is like riding a bike, once you can do a technique you won't forget it, playing it over and over just to get faster does my head in. Yay for time off!
