View post (Fender or Traynor)

Well, the biggest thing between the two is the pricetag... and that alone makes the Traynor amp much more worth it than the Fender SS... However, I too have been looking at getting an SS based on it's balance of modern and vintage tones... I'm a vintage tone whore and love getting tones out of old amps... I just picked up a 1x12 Magnovox and a 2x10 Kustom amp that are both from back in the 70's.... I love that kind of stuff... So that makes the SS my ideal amp... But the Traynor wins hands down as far as bang for buck. They make great sounding amps and their warranty can't be beat. They're really two different kinds of amps as well... Hard to compare the two besides on price a lone... The SS is probably going to take the cake as far as tone is concerned because of it's versatility... but I've heard a few nightmare stories about not being able to switch cleanly between the Burn and Vintage channels due to some EQ issues... The Traynor is a straight forward designed amp without all the bells and whistles...
