Hi everybody.

New to this site and the message boards, and I guess this is the best forum to ask this question.

I just got back into playing guitar and the bad gene kicked in and I am hooked. My work schedule is 8 days on and 7 days off, and work takes me away from home over those 8 days.

I'm hoping to find a travel guitar I can take on the road with me (I'm a pilot) so I can practice in hotel rooms. I need something I won't get hassled about on the airlines to and from work, and one I can stow safely in the plane I fly.

I've seen the PalmGuitar, which is cool and seems to meet my needs, but not my wallet (1500 bucks). I wish someone made a guitar that broke down for travel that I could put back together and string in the hotel room; don't know if thats feasible and that might turn out to be a nightmare, I'm just schemin' right now.

Sound isn't as important as portability, since my goal is to stay practiced up while away. Pickups would be preferable so I can use headphones, but an acoustic would work just as well. At this point beggars can't be choosers, I suppose.

Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give me. My fingers hurt and I am overwhelmed by what I don't know, but I'm diggin' it.

Alan
