I'm with you on that one educatedfilm. I think that Jackson's early solo recordings are probably the best pop songs ever written. I don't care what type of music I'm listening to. If it's a well written song, chances are, I'll like it and I'll listen to it.
Ain't nothin' but a Gear thang, baby!

I listened to Michael Jackson as a kid, but not so much anymore. But you've got to admit that this guy is very talented, he just has that special knack for songwriting, because he's been doing it all of his life.

And he really has a love for music, something that can't be said for a lot of musicians today. With the new cover version from 'Alien Ant farm,' it gives the younger generation of listeners a chance to experience a really powerful song. However, Like I said, I havent listened to his stuff in a long time, but every now and then I get the urge to play that (Eddie V) solo from "beat it," I swear this is some of his bestwork there. Very quick, to the point, and powerful. The first time I heard that solo, it literally blew me away!!!

You may feel justified in some strange way saying that MJ sucks (probably based on a National Enquirer type bias...the same way people put down George Michael mainly cause he's gay etc..) but you gotta admit, the musical technology and quality of the recordings is about the best you can get.
Personally, I purchase a lot of instrumental 12" copies of MJ stuff and the promotional Monster Cable instrumental recordings just blow me away.

Wow!. it's so good to see guitarist whoaren't biased against stuff like MJ's... All my freinds who play guitar, are metal heads or alt rockers, and i get laughed at for listening to anything out side the relm of rock music...
To be honest i think sometimes when we hear a song that sounds good by a band we dont like, and so we tend to have something against the song, which doesn't really make anysense, cos at the end of the day a good song is good song.
I thought the MJ solos were great too...
Admitidly though MJ has go down hill fast lately, his new stuff is dire.

I will admit that MJ has talent as far as music goes and that his early stuff was ok...I just think that musicians should be known for producing good music than for humping little kids.

Well this is off topic, but in regards to the kid humping thing... anything these days that mentions sex involving children whether it's true or not turns into a modern day witch hunt. All you gotta do is accuse somebody of being involved with children and you immediately ruin that persons career because the media jumps all over it. As far as the MJ thing is concerned, it seems a hell of a lot more likely that accusations were made strictly for the money they'd get out of it.
