its like if you talk to lots of girls and u ask what ur hobies they dont have any. i only know a few guys who dont do some sort of hoby seriosly, wether its martial arts a musically instrument competitive sports ( im not talkin a kick arround in the park), or somethin. guys just tend to want to do these things.
i dunno why, and i do find it anoyin.
i do have a theory though, its evolutionary. in cave man days the males of the species had to impress the mate, they would do this buy tryin to prove they were good at stuff. fighting, hunting, wateva. females on the other hand had to look like they had good genes. so they have to spend time making themselves look good as well as be high standin in the scocial scociety, probably why women talk more.
i might get slatted for the above but its just a thought.
Well, I think a lot of it has to go back to the ol' Hunter/Gatherer chestnut. Men, by nature are extremely competetive outwardly. Heck, we'll practically kill each other to best someone else. That force has driven a lot of great things in society. It's always created a lot of wars, death, pestilence...etc. Women, on the other hand, have a much stronger sense of community. It's not that they don't compete. Didja ever listen to a couple of women trash talk someone else? They do compete but in a much more subtle way. But it always seemed to me that they really are more interested in encouraging others in many cases. I think that women have a much stronger sense of contentment without the need to achievement and accomplishment. Most of us guys rate each other and ourselves on what we accomplish and not so much on how treat each other and how we go through life.
It's a whole yin/yang dynamic. Each has a little of the other in them, each can stand alone but together they make a totality. For all of our bravado and drive, we need their compassion and subtle sweep of grace. For all of their determination and dignity, they need our quiet strength and understanding.
As far as why they talk so much, I have no idea.... :)
