I am probably like every other guitar player in the world. Are we all happy with our tone one day, and the next day, we are ready to burn everything we own? I know that I am on a quest to get the perfect tone, if there is such a thing. I went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert last night, and the tone of Al's guitars is perfect. I have a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100 watt head, a couple of 1960 4x12 cabs, a Digitec GNX1, a Charvel with active pickups, and a new Jackson SL3 with seymore duncan pickups. My Charvel rules, and the Jackson sounds great on rythum, but on lead, I loose sustain and tone. My dirty channel on my head sounds great at times and not so great at others, and hisses. My clean channel is just very plain. How do I get that perfect proffessional sound? Do I need different equipment or do I add to what I have? I need help.
