Thank you in advance.
A common type of Artificial Harmonic is referred as Pinch Harmonics. Natural Harmonics use open strings and are limited in pitch selection, while Pinch Harmonics use fretted strings and can produce just about any pitch. Executing a Pinch Harmonic requires using both hands simultaneously to produce the Harmonic pitch. Example: Use a finger and fret a note on the neck. Then take your pick hand, choke up on the pick and expose only the tip. Strike the fretted string and mute it with the thumb holding the pick. Start moving the pick hand along the string length until you find the desired pitch. It takes practice to master the technique consistantly, but easier when using higher volume and distortion.
Anyway, that's how I achieve Artificial Harmonics on electric guitar (works on acoustic, as well).
