Favorite quote.....GET OUT THE BEANS!
Has your Town changed
I live in the fastest growing county in Missouri. I grew up here and like some of the others have written, the places that I used to play at when I was a kid are gone. My kids don't get to see the great things that were around back in the old days. The rivers that we used to swim in are too poluted now, and there are traffic lights everywhere. I don't know why everyone wants to leave california, but they are. And of course there are a lot of illegal aliens moving in and taking the construction jobs. I could go on and on.....It's kind of a touchy subject with me. Thank God for allowing me to live in a country we I have freedom of speech because I have spoken out publicly several times about the corruption that is going on with our county officials.

You should see it north of Newmarket where I live. It used to be all open fields and farm land until a coupla years ago. Now it's filled with huge grocery stores, a multiplex, Costco, a train station, Canadian Tire, Future Shop, Walmart... you name it. And they're clearing land for something else right now too.
The only old style thing we've still got around here is a drive-in theater a coupla blocks away.
Stupid thing is though, if you want to buy beer or alcohol, you've still gotta drive all the way down to Newmarket cause of the stupid Canadian laws that don't allow liquor in corner stores.
It majorly sucks to run outa beer at 2: a.m. and have to wait until 10 the next morning before you can buy more.

Well one thing I can say about Houston is besides katrina evacuees(aka some of my family so I can't talk bad about them :D )things haven't really changed much around here atleast on the the south east side. Still got crime, drugs, all the usual urban problems that plague this area. But out in the suburbs mostly upper class houses are goin up at a rate I've never seen. All your supermarts, malls, restaurants, there all goin up too. Along with the illegal aliens(no im not "hatin" on them they work for minimum wage 7 days a week w/o benefits so I gotta hold my tounge). You could probably go into any fast food joint everyday for weeks and not see the same person twice. But as much as I would love to see the "good old days" I know they are only a distant memory :(.
