The only strings someone recomended to me was Dean Markley, but I don´t care much about what brand of strings to use. In my ears it all sounds the same (atleast when I play them through distortion). I try to change strings as often as my wallet permits, so that the strings doesn´t get too rusty.
I must say that I buy the cheapest and thin strings (09...etc) so I could bend them much with less pain.
