on a similar note, a friend of mine was playing my other friend's dad's acoustic. being pretty new to the world of guitar, he picked up the guitar by the strap, which of course pulled right off and the head of the guitar smashed against the floor, snapping off.

being a good guy, my friend did all that he could do, which was go and tell the guy he just killed his guitar.
when the old man came in and saw the shattered remains of his guitar, he was shocked of course, but still respected him because he strait up told him what he had done.

...although me personally, if I saw my $500 acoustic in pieces on the ground, i would have killed the guy on the spot.
