Any gigging musician knows how important solid construction is. It's usually accompanied by better tone too. Also, the less mass the body has, the more the guitar's tone comes from the strings and the pickups. As Lordathestrings is fond of saying "if a guitar doesn't have good natural tone then better pickups just make it louder."
