i don't think there is such thing as a 'sustainer pedal' per se. a compressor would work well to add length in your notes. using a hard bodied guitar helps... guitars made of dense woods like mahogany... a fernandes sustainer works well... it uses a magnetic pulse to keep the strings vibrating... there are a lot of things you can do to help sustain. a loop pedal wouldn't do anything for your sustain at all..... unless you looped a short section of a note that you were holding then stopped it while it was still ringing... then played it back. but it wouldn't be seemless... a loop pedal is more or less for looping whole note phrases or simple chord progressions and such.... not for sustain.
