I have a 700 series and it rocks.
It sits next to a PRS CE24, a Gibson 1960 RI Les Paul, a couple of strats and a Jackson.
I A/Bed the Variax against the Strat and the LP and very few people here and at home recording .com could tell the difference. In the context of a mix the variax is even harder to distinguish from the real thing.
It is not as playable as the pRS but more comfortable than the LP.
