Coins aren't magnetic, so I doubt anything would happen. I tried playing with a coin once, it glistened the tone, but I couldn't pick fast or accuratly :D

If you like the tone your getting from it, you could buy picks made from polished stone. My mom got me one made of jasper for x-mas and it made the same tone, but was easier to pick with.
