Yes, but I use to set a background loop at for example 120 Bpm and set the echo delay to 2250 ms (one 4/4 measure + one eighth note) so the echo will not sound at the same time I play Quarter notes in the second measure.

In the second measure it sounds like if I'm playing eighth notes but I'm only playing quarter notes.

This maybe sounds strange but I hope you get what I mean, like kind of cheating.

Example, if I play these quarter notes (two 4/4 measures):
a - b - c - d - e - f - g - a

here's what will torture my ears =) :
a - b - c - d a e b f c g d a e - f - g - a

the middle part will sound eighths notes =) . Kind of cool effect, but it sounds best if you play clean non-distorted (it sounds like if you where picking with you fingers cause string jumps will occur often). Maybe we're talking about the same thing, maybe not =)
