I agree with a lot of ericthecableguy's statements. I think for the large part, especially but not exclusively when we are very young, we like what we are told to like. After that, it's individual. Everybody is different, and has different experiences, and is affected differently by different things. A song that sends chills up my spine, you might think is crap. Basically we like what we like because of who we are.
