I'm sure the Doc isn't trying to get you to sign up. Awhile back you could still view the lesson without the upgrade. You just couldn't view the video or listen to the mp3. It seems no memo was sent out about the change. All you need is $5 in a paypal account to join though in case you thought it was more.

Holding a pick is a personal thing. It seems you know what you want, so the rest would be up to you to find your comfort zone. Experiment with different thicknesses and sizes and shapes. You'll find the pick that's right for you.
